Hello,
The purpose of Update US symbol list and categories is to do
ADD symbols (if there are any) *and* update categories for all known symbols.
The key word is *known* symbol. It must be known to us.
If you add your OWN symbols that are NOT on our "NEW" symbol list, then no-one knows
which categories your OWN symbols belong to. Say you add
"MYOWNSYMBOL"
AmiBroker would not assign that symbol into sectors or industry because it does not know what
"MYOWNSYMBOL" is.
For any OWN symbols you would need to provide such information yourself.

I was afraid if I added another 1000 ticker symbols that are not in the new database and quote data for charts , that I would have to add sector and industry of each ticker by hand. I did now want to do this.
So I guess what I am trying to clarify is if I buy 6.0 and it has 6000 stocks in it and I add 1000 new stocks to equal 7000 and use Tools>Update US symbol, all sector and industry categories will be updated (as long as they are US stocks). Correct?
