[amibroker] Re: AB data files on separate partition from AB program files?

For what it's worth, I am using Win's (NTFS) symbolic link feature.

Log off from Amibroker, move the folder to where you want it, then create a symbolic link from the original location:

mklink /D "c:\Program Files\AmiBroker\Formulas" "D:\work\Kernelist\Amibroker\Formulas"

This way the change is transparent to AB, no change there is necessary. Note that I am using a completely different drive!

Also, should you have both 32 and 64 bits AB installed, you can work off from the same folder for both installations by pointing to the same folder:
mklink /D "c:\Program Files (x86)\AmiBroker\Formulas" "D:\work\Kernelist\Amibroker\Formulas"

Needless to say, when I backup my d:\work folder (using Dirvish on Linux!), it takes care of everything..
