Hello,
There is no such risk.
The DLL interface (API) is present in AmiBroker for 13 years already and allows 3rd parties already created many DLLs
(including for example RMath plugin).
Did it stop development in any way? No.
The DLL interface (API) does not influence development in any way. The AFL->DLL compiler would be no
different than oridnary C++ compiler because the ending product is just a DLL.
It has no impact on development of AmiBroker itself.
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko

Totally agree with ReefBreak here. Please don't let Amibroker development be dictated by third parties and their commercial arrangements.
Kind regards

I have been using AB for over 10 years and would like to say that TJ should keep his code open as it is now. Before using AB I used MetaStock. This package allowed its code to be compiled into an executable. I watched all development and addition of new features come to a halt because the community of developers came to control which new features would be allowed. Any proposal for some new feature would result in a howl of protest from the commercial add on community. Even known bugs in MS went un-fixed.
Since AFL is open and unprotected, TJ is free to add new features - and he has done so in abundance !TJ - keep AB open as it is now..

PS:If you need to keep your code private, write it in C++ or Python or ? then embed it. See "Component Object Model" support in the Contents area of the Help file.
