Now, the more i am thinking about it more ineffective OBV (as is) seems to me.
OBV has a very fundamental issue. Which is it's highly influenced by the Momentum (Up and Down side).
OBV mixes accumulation from both Informed (smart money) and (uninformed). Which almost kills the whole purpose of using this Indicator. Most of the promotions and education stuff on OBV are only taking one time frame where it did show a lift but when i do my test and run it across multiple time-frames and cycles it looses it effectiveness because it's mixing Smart money and Heard Money.
Which, gives me a very good food for thought on how to hack OBV for my purposes so I can seperate the Accumulation of Informed v/s the uninformed.
I name my indicators as:
- Informed Volume Accumulation Indicator
- Uninformed Volume Accumulation Indicator
