You don't tell it of course (play guessing games)
but ... are you using "zoom in/out" or other method?
No it does not jump 500 bars. The zoom "step" depends on number of bars in the database
(i.e. it is dynamic).
There are OTHER methods which are more precise
1. View->Zoom->Range (exact one-bar accuracy - use range markers than zoom).
2. Mouse WHEEL with CTRL key held down - zoom is centered at position of the mouse.
3. Dragging the edge of scroll bar thumb
