[amibroker] Re: Anyone Been able to do this yet?

Hi there!

With the new function PriceVolDistribution in the latest beta, this should be easy to do.

Saying that, the Buy and Sell Volumes you can only approximate in AmiBroker and my research shows that those approximations usually used are not very good. But I guess better than nothing...

There is a feature requested in the AB Feedback Center and that is Ask & Bid Prices at Tick- in array form. If that is one day implemented in AmiBroker then together with a microSec time-stamp you can even identify individual orders and not only the fills. Because if you want to track the "smart money" you must analyse the filled order sizes and filter out the small traders. After that there are plenty of ways to analyse and follow the "smart money". What's interesting to see is that if you divide the Volume between small traders and the "big boys" you will actual see the accumulations/distribution areas since the "big boys' are doing exact the opposite of what the small traders are doing. As you know, the small traders always jumps in too late and buy at tops, while the "big boys" are selling there and vice versa. It's basically trading by fear & greed or trading by using logic. :-)

Lots of traders say that Volume Price Analysis is not working in today's market due to dark pools etc. But that is not true! It works and especially in "clean markets" such as the e-mini futures. But to have the actual Buy & Sell Volumes would of course bring this analysis to totally new and exciting level!

Regards,

Jorgen
