The ocean of money keeps coming into equity ETFs, but the bulk of the inflows is going into the reflation trade: financials, energy, materials, and industrials have seen very large inflows in 2021.
At new highs this week: commodities. Timber ETFs like Invesco Global Timber (CUT) and iShares Global Timber & Forestry (WOOD) and the broader Invesco Diversified Commodity Strategy (PDBC).
There's trends and there's microtrends. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are having a moment, and of course ETFs are being created around them. Defiance has filed for a Crypto and Blockchain Ecosystem ETF.
David Swensen, Yale's chief investment officer, has passed away. He was a giant in the investing world and a big proponent of index funds and ETFs for the average investor.
Very interesting story about a growing but somewhat ignored area of investing: buffered ETFs, which promise investors some downside protection when markets fall. This is starting to attract real money!
