This week in brief

Your invitation to join me on my Bitcoin journey

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

Becky Liggero-Fontana is making the move from CalvinAyre.com to CoinGeek.com, with a full-time focus on the intersection of Bitcoin SV and the gaming industry.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Becky knows the gaming industry inside and out but she's never really dug into the technicalities powering Bitcoin and the innovation happening around it, until now. Over the last month, she's taken several Bitcoin courses, started consuming Bitcoin-related articles, interviews and livestreams, and signed up with a number of Bitcoin SV-powered applications.

WHY SHOULD I CARE?

Blockchain is in its infancy — think about the evolution of mobile technology from its clunky beginnings in the '90s to how we use it today. Everyone has cell phone and even toddlers know how to use them — we can't live without them! This is what's going to happen with blockchain. And as Becky prepares to come out of her comfort zone creating content surrounding Bitcoin SV technology, she invites you to join her on this next journey.

US Rep. Patrick McHenry joins Jimmy Nguyen in Blockchain Policy Matters premiere episode

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

In Bitcoin Association's new show, Blockchain Policy Matters, Founding President Jimmy Nguyen talks to senior lawmakers about how they view blockchain technology — both now and in the future — as well as some of the legal obstacles and obligations that need to be addressed in the burgeoning blockchain and digital currency spaces.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

In episode one of BPM, Nguyen is joined by US Congressman Patrick McHenry, the representative for North Carolina's 10th Congressional District, and the Republican Leader of the House Financial Services Committee for the 116th and 117th Congress. Nguyen and McHenry discuss the opportunities that fintech presents, how policymakers should approach blockchain and digital currency, how to balance AML and KYC, use cases for blockchain on the state and federal level, microtransactions and what they can do for the world, and much more.

WHY SHOULD I CARE?

To learn more about the potential of blockchain technology and digital currency, as well as how one lawmaker is currently viewing and approaching the industry, then you are going to want to watch episode one of Jimmy Nguyen's Blockchain Policy Matters. You can find episode one, "Blockchain Policy Matters: U.S. Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-NC 10)" on the Bitcoin Association YouTube channel.
