Hello HousingWire readers —
Today, HousingWire is launching a miniseries as part of our HousingWire Daily podcast called Honest Conversations. Running every Wednesday for the next eight weeks, this podcast will feature our digital media manager, Alcynna Lloyd, talking with industry leaders about diversity and minority homeownership.
Her inspiration for the series came from the social unrest of the last year, and seeing how companies were responding with new programs and initiatives. "I sensed a need within the industry for these kinds of conversations, but companies weren't always sure where and how to have them," she said. "I am hoping to educate our audience and allow them to speak on the topics that are important to them."
Our first guest is Michael Neal, senior research associate in the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute. Michael's experience includes working at Fannie Mae as a director of economics in the Economic and Strategic Research division, as well serving as the assistant vice president at NAHB's Economic and Housing Policy department. He has also worked on Congress's Joint Economic Committee, in the Federal Reserve system, the Congressional Budget Office, and Goldman Sachs.
The series is enthusiastically sponsored by Caliber Home Loans, which has launched a number of initiatives this year around diversity. We're grateful for their support and can't wait to see the fruit of these Honest Conversations!!
Today's HousingWire Daily episode features an interview with HousingWire Editor in Chief Sarah Wheeler. In this episode, Wheeler discusses HousingWire's upcoming Spring Summit on March 4, and what attendees can expect from the virtual conference.
