Thank you very much for your e-mail.
No, TWS symbology is inconsistent. For some symbols they expect
you to provide "underlying symbol" for some not, for some they expect the currency,
for some not, for some they expect you to give "primary exchange" etc etc.
There is absolutely NO consistency in TWS symbology. Plus they change the system from time to
time breaking backward compatibility.
As I wrote, IB Controller is a thin layer and does not do much it just passes
the arguments given.
IB Controller is open source. The code is available freely and instructions
were given here what to do to allow CFD.
If you don't want to do this yourself, I may prepare update soon.
