Thanks for the reply.
I'm using the Alpha pdu from Premium Data as my data source. Do you know how much data this needs for RAM? The folder size of the Alpha db is just under 2GB, but I'm not sure if that is the whole db.
The baddest i7 currently, the i7 5960X, has 20MB of cache on it. This doesnt seem like a lot when compared to GBs. Even the Xeon chips dont have significantly more than this though; 30 odd MB. So obviously this works differently to GBs of RAM, and 20MB must be a decent amount. What actually gets loaded up to this 20MB cache? If the db is 2GB in size, what gets put in the cache? (caveat: I have no idea how this works, so I may have just written a lot of nonsense)
Thanks
CK
