Desktop with current generation i7 cpu , 16GB RAM, 256 GB SSD(solid state drive), Graphic card with 2GB Ram on board to support multiple displays ..This would be a good config for most AB users.
"Optimization" usually takes much more time compared to Backtesting.
AB utilizes Multithreading only for "Exhaustive optimization".. suitable for fewer optimization variables in the AFL.
When you want to optimize more variables and use "Smart optimization engines" , then AB only utilizes monothreading or single core of the CPU..
I feel the same as Milosz, we should aspire to improve our coding skills :)
