A NOTE FROM BOB
The big rotation is on: out of thematic tech and into value, energy, commodities, dividends, and anything inflation-themed. Join me on ETF Edge on Monday at 1 PM ET when we talk to the heads of two ETFs in the thick of that rotation: Jeremy Schwartz, Global Chief Investment Officer for WisdomTree, and Christian Magoon, President of Amplify. They'll be joined by Mike Akins from ETF Action. We will show you the hot ETFs in Value, Energy, dividend, inflation-themed, and commodities. ETFedge.cnbc.com.
Speaking of inflation, Amplify has launched a new ETF to capitalize on that hot trend: the Amplify Inflation Fighter ETF (IWIN).
Despite all the turmoil in January, ETFs still had inflows. Just less of it: $37 billion in net inflows, far less than most months in 2021 but still inflows. Most of the money, predictably, went to plain vanilla ETFs like Vanguard's S&P 500 fund (VOO). Fixed income ETFs, of course, got trashed.
Who says fintech is dead? Our friends at Grayscale Investments have launched its first ETF, the Grayscale Future of Finance ETF (GFOF), 22 concentrated bets on the digital economy.
You think disruptive technology stocks are volatile, wait until you see Cathie Wood's new fund. The proposed ARK Venture Fund wants to again target disruptive technology companies, but wants to do early-stage investing, including "illiquid securities and securities in which no secondary market is readily available, including those of private companies," according to Bloomberg. There are also provisions that will limit the amount investors can pull out of the fund every quarter. This is a type of closed-end fund.
