In December, Rocket Mortgage became thefirst lender to use eNotes in closing a Ginnie Mae-backed loan as part of apilot program. Now the lender says the market is set to see widespread eClosings of Ginnie Mae loans by the end of this year.
Ginnie Maelaunched the pilot program in 2019, paving the way for the agency to accept eNotes as satisfactory collateral for its mortgage-backed securities.
We wanted to follow up with Ginnie on that program, so we featured Angel Hernandez, Ginnie Mae director of MBS policy and program development, on ourHousingWire Daily podcast. Listen to thathere.
We also ranan article by Ben Miller, co-founder of SimpleNexus, who explores some of the lesser-known benefits of eClosing, including freeing up warehouse line capacity. We tend to think of the efficiencies of eClosings in a vacuum, but this article looks at the bigger picture. Check that out here.
The American Land Title Association announced the promotion of Vice President Kelly Romeo to senior vice president and the newly created role of chief information officer.
