Veridat: Rebuilding trust in big pharma

Blockchain can play an instrumental role.
CoinGeek Conversations: Phillip Runyan | Managing Director, Veridat

Bridging the big pharma and public divide with Bitcoin SV

Hello Firsato,

This week's CoinGeek Conversations sees Natalie Mason discuss how blockchain can solve issues surrounding big pharma with Veridat Managing Director Phillip Runyan.

Veridat describes itself as a Trust as a Service (TaaS) platform provider for data integrity. The company uses the Bitcoin SV blockchain and allows auditors to access information on clinical trials, on a transaction-to-transaction basis.

"It's not that they're worried about somebody coming in and committing fraud," Phillip says. "It's really more of, we have this service that allows us to back up a ton of information… they also have all the benefits of showing this immutable chain of custody, immutable data ledger."

Serious studies are being conducted on using blockchain technology for pharmaceutical research. Pharmaceutical company contract research organizations and the U.S. FDA itself are doing it.

Blockchain has the potential to increase transparency and accountability during the research process, which can help rebuild trust with the public at large.

Read more about how Veridat is changing the game in pharmaceutical research using Bitcoin blockchain technology.
