Hello, Openhouse readers!
My wife and I have been looking to purchase a fixer-upper in upstate New York. And since we didn't know a real estate agent in the area, we did what virtually everyone else does: asked some friends for agent recommendations. What happened next was kind of unexpected.
We were about to reach out to one recommended real estate agent, but spotted something weird on their website: they had a waiting list to take on new clients. A waiting list! And it came with a lengthy form to fill out!
Needless to say, we chuckled and went with a different agent at another brokerage.
Given that the purchase market is certifiably insane right now (steep prices, barely-there inventory), I thought I'd ask you real estate agents, team leaders and brokers: Have you seen this kind of thing in hot markets? What do you do when you are at maximum capacity and simply can't take on more clients? Shoot me an email at jkleimann@housingwire.com and let me know!
