You've likely heard the phrase, "It takes a village." But today I submit to you, "It takes a village to buy a house in said village."
Hi real estate enthusiasts!
You often hear the phrase, "It takes a village" in reference to raising a child. But today I submit to you, "It takes a village to buy a house in said village."
If you've been around since the first OwnIt newsletter, then you know I often share anecdotes from my recent home purchase. Not today, and that's because we're talking about how to form your housing dream team. (I stumbled upon my real estate agent, lender and appraiser in a manner that was so anti-Type-A-me that I'm just not going to go there. They were great though.)
I'm referring to this group of individuals as your housing dream team because, in an ideal world, that's exactly what they are. Everyone works together to guide you through what can be an extremely personal, emotional and costly purchase. It's essential to partner with people you trust to answer your questions and shepherd you in the right direction. We've provided articles below with tips on how to find the right agent and lender for you, as well as what questions to ask.
