Thousands of mortgage industry jobs are being shed every week, but there are some banks, nonbanks and brokerages that are hiring.

Mortgage rates are climbing back up to 6%. And thousands of mortgage industry jobs are being shed every week.   It's undoubtedly a challenging climate, but there are some banks, nonbanks and brokerages that are hiring.   In Tuesday's edition of LendingLife, I posted some open positions in the mortgage market and also asked readers to share news of other available jobs. I have never received so many replies.    WesBanco Bank, the second-largest bank headquartered in West Virginia, after United Bank, is among the firms hiring. Founded in 1870, the bank is prepared for the mortgage downturn, said its vice president, Rick Trew.    "We didn't go out and hire everybody we possibly could," Trew said.
