Hello, LOs!
It can be difficult to balance work during the holidays. This year, it appears some LOs are forgoing time off.
According to one LO who is traveling to Ternopil, Ukraine for the holiday season, he plans to keep his work phone on and be in constant communication with his clients back in the United States.
"That's the upside and downside of technology," he said.
Another LO currently visiting his parents for the holidays said that, despite the festivities, he is still hard at work closing deals for his clients.
"I've helped two clients close on houses this week," he said. "I'm enjoying my vacation, of course, but I still have to work."
He said that borrowers have an expectation of being able to reach their LO at all times of the day and night.
LOs, in recent years, do you find your clients expect you to be more responsive, even during the holidays? How do you manage their expectations? Are you still dealing with loans stuck in the pipeline?
Numerous shops, including Better.com, Interfirst Mortgage, and Freedom Mortgage have announced layoffs in the past few weeks, and some LOs worry their jobs may also be on the chopping block.
