On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that the FHFA leadership structure is unconstitutional. Before the ink even dried on that decision, President Biden told Mark Calabria to pack his things. Sandra Thompson has been hired to replace Calabria on an acting basis, but could she be the permanent FHFA leader?

And on Thursday, the White House nominated Acting CFPB Director Dave Uejio to be an assistant secretary at HUD. Hours later, the White House nominated Julia Gordon to head up the FHA. 

 

While our ace senior mortgage reporter Georgia Kromrei was reporting on all the FHFA/HUD/CFPB madness, our senior real estate reporter Matt Blake was publishing a story about a bill in Oregon that could signal the end of real estate love letters.

 

And let's not forget our lead analyst Logan Mohtashami, who continues to educate our audience with his data analysis and housing market forecasts. This week he wrote about homebuilders and why they aren't in a position to cure this deeply unhealthy housing market.
