In the fourth quarter of 2020, a whopping $921.97 billion in loans were sold to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae. But which channels — retail, broker, correspondent — are lenders using to source their loans?

Correspondents held a market share of 27.1% in 4Q20, an increase of 189 basis points from 3Q. The gain came at the expense of the retail channel, whose market share dropped to 57.6%. Brokers held steady at 15.3%.
