We Need To Talk About The Climate Problem In Bitcoin Mining

The often cited "issue" in Bitcoin is misunderstood and misrepresented.

Bitcoin contributes only 0.13% of the global emissions, and this assuming the whole bitcoin network is running on fossil fuels. This piece illustrates some numbers and comparisons of the CO2 global emissions with bitcoin's energy consumption, which are good to be aware of. In these times of internet and communication traveling at the speed of light, it has been shown that bad information spreads faster than good information.

We must fight noise by providing signal, whenever these often tell us that "Bitcoin consumes more energy than a specific country," we can answer back with good information.

Member Of Argentina's National Congress Submits Bill To Allow Workers To Receive Salary In Bitcoin

Workers in Argentina may be able to receive pay in BTC and store their wealth without fear of inflation.

José Luis Ramón, a member of Argentina's national Congress, submitted a bill to allow workers to receive their salary entirely or partially in bitcoin. His idea, as he mentioned, is to provide autonomy and the opportunity to retain the purchasing power of their remuneration.

Even though it is still only a bill, and not yet accepted, the news is big. This shows the continuation of the ripple effect started by El Salvador's move to make Bitcoin legal tender. The political movement in South America does not cease to impress, starting with El Salvador, then Paraguay and now Argentina being vocal about Bitcoin's adoption. We can simply wonder, which country is next?
