Hey,
The housing market has been on a fast-moving rollercoaster for the last couple of months as we all try to return to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking at the data, it's not as simple as comparing year-over-year changes or even monthly changes since the past year was filled with never-before-seen situations. So, how should you look at the data to tell if things are returning to normal?
Join HW+ today to gain access to an exclusive Q&A with HousingWire's Lead Analyst Logan Mohtashami to get answers. You'll be able to directly ask him any questions you have on what to make of the latest housing data, his forecast for the rest of this year, and whether or not the housing market is returning to normal.
During the Q&A, Logan will be discussing his takeaways from the most recent housing data and what it means for lenders and Realtors as we try to navigate an uncertain future.

Are we back to a normal housing market?
Favorable demographics should keep the housing market ticking. But watch for home prices escalating out of control and rates moving up sharply, writes columnist Logan Mohtashami.
Americans are buying more homes with mortgages in the years 2020-2021 than any single year from 2008-2019. The years 2022-2023 will be the sweet spot years because ages 30 to 31 will make up the biggest age group in history.
New homes selling well even as builders pass on costs
Although the roller-coaster ride may now be over, the general uptrend in housing starts from the lows of 2018 is still intact. The new-home sector has held up well during this turbulent ride despite the higher construction costs that homebuilders have passed on to their customers.
