What is the most unusual story you can think of the last few months regarding this low-inventory, high-demand housing market?

To all the agents in the house,
One of the following statements is a lie.
In Shelbyville, Tennessee, the walking horse capital of America, homes are in such demand that the seller side is demanding cash buys.
In Missoula, Montana, known for its carousel of hand-crafted wooden ponies, potential buyers must show they are serious about a purchase by agreeing to walk the listing agent's dog.
And in Bethesda, Maryland, no horse ties whatsoever, a homebuyer candidate pledged to name her first-born child after the seller.
The answer is "B," but that's only because I haven't yet heard that story from a Missoula agent. The extraordinary trend of "A" is word from a Shelbyville agent, and "C" was tweeted by Redfin CEO Glenn Kelman.
What is the most unusual story you can think of the last few months regarding this low-inventory, high-demand housing market?
When did a buying agent take especially desperate measures? When did a sales agent play their trump card, win the trick, and then play another trump card?
And, if you do have such stories, why do you think they are happening? Is it the agent's who are being motivated to try tactics they haven't done before? Or is such behavior really being prompted by desperate homebuyers?
As a non-homeowner myself, I don't understand needing to buy right now versus waiting out this market. But I am curious to hear about why some buyers might feel a sense of urgency.
