Meme stocks will be watched closely again with some investors still looking for an easy ride. As part of a heat check on the economy, Nareit REITweek is one of the biggest events of the year for the REIT industry and arrives just as the operating environment is heating up in real estate. Online juggernaut Chewy (NYSE:CHWY) reports earnings and Campbell Soup (NYSE:CPB) spills numbers for a quarter that runs up against last year's lockdown period. On the economic calendar, all eyes will be on the latest report on consumer prices as investor weigh the impact of rising prices in key areas. The CPI report will also be a crucial data set for the Federal Reserve in front of the upcoming policy meeting. Economists forecast CPI will be up 4.7% for May compared to last year after rising 4.2% in April.

IPOs expected to start trading next week include Logiq (OTCQX:LGIQ) for new shares in Canada on June 7, Marqeta (MQ) on June 9, as well as LifeStance Health Group (LFST), Monday (MNDY) and Zeta Global (ZETA) on June 10. IPO share lockup periods expire on C3.AI (NYSE:AI) and Pubmatic (NASDAQ:PUBM) on June 7, Hydrofarm Holdings (NASDAQ:HYFM) on June 8 and AbCellera Biologics (NASDAQ:ABCL), Certara (NASDAQ:CERT), 4D Molecular Therapeutics (NASDAQ:FDMT) and Nanobiotix (NASDAQ:NBTX) on June 9. The IPO quiet period expires on IPower (NASDAQ:IPW) on June 7.

Dividends

Projected dividend increases (quarterly): Dividend payout increases forecast for next week include United Health (NYSE:UNH) to $1.50 from $1.25, Gentex (NASDAQ:GNTX) to $0.13 from $0.12, Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) to $1.08 from $1.03, Target (NYSE:TGT) to $0.70 from $0.68 and National Fuel Gas (NYSE:NFG) to $0.455 from $0.445.

Real Estate

One of the biggest REIT events of the year runs from June 7-10. NAREIT REITweek arrives amid an accelerating operating environment for lodging. Jefferies anticipated that commentary around recent and near-term trends should be more positive than expected. "As a result, our low-end-of-the-range estimates, and prospectively estimates overall, for 2Q21 and FY21 could prove to be too conservative," notes analyst David Katz. The firm expects commentary from Lodging REITS like Host Hotels & Resorts (NASDAQ:HST), Park Hotels & Resorts (NYSE:PK), Hersha Hospitality Trust (NYSE:HT) and Apple Hospitality (NYSE:APLE) will reflect acceleration in April and May and a strong June outlook.

Events

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) holds its annual WWDC event on June 7. The company is expected to walk through highlights of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, WatchOS 8, MacOS 12, and TVOS 15. Details on new MacBook Pros and new Apple-designed processors could also be of high interest. CEO Tim Cook's keynote address is anticipated to focus in part on data privacy and security issues.

ASCO presentations are expected in from a large number of companies including Biogen (NASDAQ:BIIB), PDS Biotechnology (NASDAQ:PDSB), Compugen (NASDAQ:CGEN), Alexion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ALXN) and Gossamer Bio (NASDAQ:GOSS). As part of the ASCO event, Merck (NYSE:MRK) holds an Oncology Event. Data spanning more than 20 cancer types from its oncology research program will be presented. FDA action dates arrive for Pfizer's (NYSE:PFE) 20vPnC vaccine and Vertex Pharmaceuticals' (NASDAQ:VRTX) TRIKAFTA.

Tyler Technologies (NYSE:TYL) will discuss its financial guidance and provide an update on its recent acquisition of NIC during a conference call. Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) holds an investor event to highlight the company's video segment BlackRock (NYSE:BLK) host its 2021 Investor Day. The event will include three hours of virtual presentations by management. Shares of BlackRock have rallied in the past after the financial giant's investor day event.

Conferences rundown: Major conferences running during the week the Deutsche Bank 18th Global Consumer Conference, the Evercore ISI Inaugural Technology, Media, and Telecom / TMT Conference, the Oppenheimer & Co Virtual Software & Semiconductor Bus Tour, the Goldman Sachs 2nd Annual Global Consumer ESG Conference, Wells Fargo Virtual Media & Telco Day, the Citi Silicon Valley Virtual IT Hardware Bus Tour, the Morgan Stanley Digital Auto Retail Disruption Day event, the Berenberg Gaming Conference, the Stifel Virtual Cross Sector Insight Conference, the Deutsche Bank 12th Annual Global Basic Materials Conference, the LD Micro Invitational XI event and the Needham Virtual Automotive Tech Conference.

The strong booking trends in Las Vegas and the implications for casino operators like MGM Resorts (NYSE:MGM) and Boyd Gaming (NYSE:BYD) is broken down. Weekend occupancy rates in Las Vegas are approaching pre-pandemic levels, while convention business is expected to start booming in the fall and be strong in 2022. The banking sector is also sized up by the publication this week. Higher loan growth is seen boosting the shares of Allegiance Bancshares (NASDAQ:ABTX), Pinnacle Financial Partners (NASDAQ:PNFP) and PNC Financial Services Group (NYSE:PNC).
